Conversion to the Catholic Tradition (RCIA)

Unbaptized adults and baptized non-Catholics who are interested in becoming Catholic are encouraged to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). According to RCIA text, it “is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. By God’s help they will be strengthened spiritually during their preparation and at the proper time will receive the Sacraments fruitfully.” It is a process group that prepares adults for the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation and/or Reconciliation.

We begin the program in September with inquiry and invitation. Beginning in October and running through the spring candidates attend weekly liturgies and discussion sessions designed to enlighten and form Catholic Christians. By the season of Lent the candidates begin the final preparations for the Sacraments, which are shared at the Easter Vigil Mass. Please contact the rectory if you are interested!
